Horror

EPIX recently gave the green light to a sci-fi/horror series titled “From,” created by John Griffin (Crater), and Deadline reports today that Oscar-nominated actress Catalina Sandino Moreno (“American Gothic,” “The Affair”) is on board to lead the cast. She’ll be joined by Eion Bailey (“Band Brothers,” “The Stand”) and Harold Perrineau (“Claws,” “The Rookie”).

Deadline reports, “Written by Griffin, From unravels the mystery of a nightmarish town in middle America that traps all those who enter. As the unwilling residents fight to keep a sense of normalcy and search for a way out, they must also survive the threats of the surrounding forest – including the terrifying creatures that come out when the sun goes down.”’

“Moreno plays Tabitha Matthews, who, along with husband Jim (Bailey), is struggling in the aftermath of a personal tragedy and suddenly finds herself and her family trapped in the town. Together they must find a way to keep their children safe, struggling to come to terms with this new reality even as they desperately search for a way back home.”

Jack Bender (“Mr. Mercedes”) will be directing the first four episodes of the series from Epix Studios and MGM International Television Productions. It’s likely coming to EPIX in 2022.

Producers include Midnight Radio and Joe & Anthony Russo’s AGBO.
