Luckie Boy is back to making killer vibes and beats in epic hit “26 Letters”. Not your typical groove maker – Luckie Boy sews together several bandwidths resulting in a sonic burst that could elevate any room. In this case, “26 Letters”, or 26 days without his better half by his side, is a working recipe. Where EDM artists balloon the sounds to almost distracting levels, Luckie Boy’s formula is more relaxed, but just as explosive.

One of the ways that Luckie Boy excites the listener the most is his shy, modest appeal. I think confidence and the freedom comes into play when he arranges the music. When I listened to “26 Letters” I felt like I was listening to an artist that lets the music do the talking, the words he might not be able to say himself, but in song he’s given the confidence to express himself. I think a lot of people are like that. Younger people especially. As a society we might not be able to say what we want to another person’s face, but we can sure write a note or in some cases hide behind a keyboard. I don’t think Luckie Boy is hiding his love for his special someone. “26 Letters” never leaves things in the lurch or hidden. He’s open and caring – he’s sensitive and romantic. He’s all the stuff girls start crushing over in their early teens.

“26 Letters” is co-written by famed songwriter (and author) Thornton Cline. Cline and Luckie Boy also collaborated on the songs “Cry Myself to Sleep” and “Hourglass”. Often while I listen to songs I try to think of how they would sound on a concert stage, as big as Red Rocks are as small as the corner coffeehouse in a small town U.S.A. Luckie Boy, who actually grew up in a small Indiana town, pursued his dream of music and moved to Nashville. Now in Music City, it’s evident he’s aligned himself with writers, such as Cline, that share a hopeful vision. When you listen to “26 Letters” you hear those unwritten dreams between the measures. You can picture this song being played in large amphitheaters and community stages. Luckie Boy makes it happen, he creates that Grand Canyon of sounds and fills it with his own wicked blend of fun, spirit and love.

A bit of electronica, a whisper of a melodic guitar and a rush of first-time love. These are the things that come to mind in “26 Letters”. Just as there are 26 letters in the alphabet, I think you could fit another 26 paragraphs on the intricacies and mechanics Luckie Boy uses to construct this song. He’s a visionary with his computer skills. I don’t need all the bells and whistles in a song if they don’t fit the tone – Luckie Boy recognizes this and doesn’t give us dropped beats just for the sake of making a sound. He crafts something very beautiful together. “26 Letters” is one of 2021’s breakout hits and Luckie Boy is a rising star.
