Margaret Josephs is her own kind of housewife on the Real Housewives Of New Jersey. She doesn’t drink, holds everyone accountable and drinks cold brew out of wine glasses. She’s the fun-loving pigtailed business lady who isn’t afraid to throw a douche husband in a pool. And throughout her time on RHONJ, she’s been open and honest about her rocky past.
And more of that honesty is coming with the release of her book Caviar Dreams, Tuna Fish Budget. The memoir will contain stories that even her husband Joe Benigno and ex-husband Jan Josephs haven’t heard before. Now that’s some piping hot tea if you ask me.
In a recent interview with Us Weekly, the Marge opened up about an affair she had during her 20-year marriage to Jan and what she learned from that time. In the book, she admitted she had an affair with Kelly Hansen, the lead singer of the band Foreigner, prior to divorcing Jan in 2013. She added that Jan hasn’t even read the book yet. “He’ll find out about [the affair] for the first time,” she said. “It happened so long ago. … He’s not going to care.”
To be fair, Marge has been open about her indiscretions in her first marriage on the show, so it’s not new. But now we know that she used to have a thing for rock star bad boys. “I think the [most] difficult part, truthfully, was to relive my first marriage because it was painful,” she said.

Margaret and Jan raised his three children from a previous marriage and had their own child, so she said she “fell right into” life as a mother and wife when they got married. “The kids took to me right away … I had such a crazy life before then,” she said. “I think I was happy just to settle down and not have all that insanity. I yearned for the stability. … But I think, looking back, I didn’t know a lot of things and I didn’t know how to navigate a marriage like that.” It’s good to know that Jan and Marge are still cool with one another after all this happened.
Her book also aims to give people advice on navigating business and relationships, so Marge hopes people will learn from her mistakes. Mainly, she believes she “should have caught on to” some “little flags” early in their relationship. “I just think some women can turn their heads to certain things,” Margaret said.

Even though Jan hasn’t read the book, Margaret has made him aware of what she’s putting in it, including photos of them. “He was like, ‘Wow, Marge. I was one good-looking guy. I was in great shape, I can’t believe that was me.’ … I was like, ‘Jan, that was our honeymoon. And you were only 47 and I was 27.’ It was very funny,” she added.
It’ll be interesting to get an in-depth look into the wild and wonderful life of Marge before the show. But one thing’s for sure — Jennifer Aydin is definitely not getting a shout-out after their back and forth battles this season.
