Andy Cohen Is “Praying” Fraud Allegations Against Jen Shah Aren’t True

Reality TV

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City fandom has been in a frenzy since news broke last week that Jen Shah is facing federal fraud and money laundering charges. Apparently she and her assistant Stuart Smith were involved in a decade-long telemarketing scheme that preyed on elderly people. Jen is proclaiming she’s innocent — both by pleading not guilty and making tone-deaf Instagram stories about #FreeJen. And accusing her fellow castmembers of racism in a feeble attempt to get the spotlight off her for 5 seconds.

While Bravo fans have been feverishly tuning into every turn, even overloading Jen’s virtual hearing last week, the network has remained quiet. There are rumors that she was tipped off about the arrest while filming with the cast (and apparently tried to run away). And word on the street (not from Gizelle Bryant) is that Bravo cameras were at the courthouse filming her leaving in a fur coat and leopard boots.

But now the king of Bravo Andy Cohen has finally weighed in on the matter. Albeit, in his always brief and vague fashion. According to Page Six, Andy was asked during his SiriusXM show “Radio Andy” about the whole case. “Oy vey,” he said.

Andy added, “I’m waiting to see how it plays out. I have nothing to add to what we already know, other than I certainly hope and pray that none of it is true.” Alright, Andy COME ON. Obviously, Jen is innocent until proven guilty, but all of the facts are there. And Jen’s been so cavalier about her outrageous spending and giving shady descriptions about her “Wizard Of Oz”-like career.  So things are not looking good for Jen or her Shah Squad.

We know Andy threw some subtle shade at Jen when audio leaked of her berating her employees. He took the Heather Gay perspective, saying it proves that Jen doesn’t act up for cameras. But this is a whole new level. Andy did not confirm or deny whether or not Jen will keep filming Season 2, but we can only hope so. And let’s hope this time, Mary Cosby tells her she smells like jail rather than hospital.

Jen’s case will take place in October. If she’s found guilty, she could be facing up to 30 years in prison. That’s a long time to go without a glam squad or a Coach Shah pep talk. But we know at least for now, she’s going to keep getting her hair done and acting like nothing’s wrong. Apparently it’s somewhat working for Erika Jayne.
