Esperanza Spalding has released the TRIANGLE suite: a trio of new songs called “formwela 1,” “formwela 2,” featuring Ganavya, and “formwela 3.” The tracks were developed by the Grammy-winning musician and released today as part of the unveiling of her Songwrights Apothecary Lab, a new project described as “half songwrighting workshop and half guided-research practice.” The new songs were written “in consultation with music therapists and neuroscientists,” as The New York Times reports. Listen below.
12 Little Songs, Spalding’s most recent full-length, was released track-by-track in 2018. The year before that, she live streamed the recording of her album Exposure.
