Here we go, everybody! Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jen Shah had her virtual moment in court. Jen was indicted on Tuesday on federal charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering in an alleged long-running telemarketing scam. Stuart Smith, necklace lover and Jen’s loyal assistant in crime, was also cuffed for his part in the scheme. Bravo cameras were rolling when federal agents made the move to place Jen in custody, so there is little doubt this will play out on RHOSLC’s second season.
Jen was scheduled virtually appear before Judge Sidney Stein for an arraignment on March 31, but an overloaded call (translation: Bravo fans) bumped the meeting to today. This morning Jen showed up to face the music in full Gucci. When asked how she pleads to her suspected crimes, Jen was all, “Guilty? I don’t know her…”
And there you have it, folks. Jen plead not guilty to federal charges during her arraignment today. According to Entertainment Tonight, the plea comes after she was arrested on Tuesday in an alleged long-running telemarketing scam. Stu Chainz plead not guilty as well.
The judge ruled that Jenny From the CB must sign a $1 million personal recognizance bond secured by $250,000 in cash or property and have the signatures of two “financially responsible persons” for her continued release. ANY VOLUNTEERS? Jen was also ordered to have no contact with any co-defended, victims, or witnesses except in the presence of council. So that means Stu Chainz is going to be pretty lonely.

Ahead of her court appearance Jen went full unbothered and checked in with her hair guy who posted, “Baby fresh out and had to come get laid and slayed by the silkpress queen of utah. #unarrested #priorities #shahsquad.” I guess if you’re going to be tacky, you might as well be all the way tacky. ET also learned Jen’s future on RHOSLC is in the limbo zone. But we all know that a little vacation at camp is not a job killer on the Bravo network. Production on the show has resumed without Jen at this time.
Homeland Security Investigations Agent-in-Charge Peter C. Fitzhugh said, “In reality, they [Jen and Stuart] allegedly built their opulent lifestyle at the expense of vulnerable, often elderly, working-class people. Working with our partners at the NYPD and the United States Attorney’s Office, SDNY, and with the assistance of HSI Salt Lake City, HSI New York worked to ensure that Shah and Smith will answer for their alleged crimes. As a result, their new reality may very well turn out differently than they expected.” BAM. Jen’s trial is set to begin October 18, 2021.
