Perfume Genius: IMMEDIATELY Remixes [Matador]

Perfume Genius’ Mike Hadreas recruited several friends for a full complement of remixes from last spring’s Set My Heart on Fire Immediately. His collaborators include Jenny Hval (“Leave”), A.G. Cook (“Describe”), Actress (“One More Try”), Jim-E Stack (“Without You”), and Initial Talk (“On the Floor”). The video for Boy Harsher’s remix of “Your Body Changes Everything” was inspired by Tobe Hooper’s Poltergeist and David Cronenberg’s Videodrome.

Pino Palladino & Blake Mills: Notes With Attachments [New Deal/Impulse!]

Following last year’s Mutable Set, Blake Mills has teamed up with bassist Pino Palladino on Notes With Attachments, a project they’ve had in the works for nearly three years. They shared “Just Wrong” and “Ekuté” from the record ahead of its release, plus live videos of “Off the Cuff,” “Djurkel,” and “Just Wrong.” Working with drummer Chris Dave, keyboardist Larry Goldings, and a trio of sax players (Marcus Strickland, Sam Gendel, and Jacques Schwartz-Bart), they developed the project from concepts Palladino had sent to Mills. “[Because of] Blake’s response to the ideas, it dawned on both of us that it would be a collaborative record,” Palladino explained.
