Horror

Kevin and Matthew McManus, the sibling duo who helped pen Netflix’s incredible “American Vandal” and YouTube’s “Cobra Kai”,  direct The Block Island Sound, a new thriller that will hit Netflix on March 11, reveals the film’s directors.

Michaela McManus (Into The Grizzly Maze), Chris Sheffield (The Maze Runner), Neville Archambault (13 Cameras), and Ryan O’Flanagan (American Vandal), and Jeremy Holm star in the film that had its world premiere at the virtual Fantasia Film Festival last summer.

The story follows Audry Lynch (McManus) as she returns home to Block Island only to discover her dad (Archambault) is suffering from a series of blackouts and hallucinations. After a particularly stressful night, her father goes missing, leading Audry and her brother, Harry (Sheffield), to search for answers. They’ll soon find out there is one ominous thread that ties everything together, putting their family in grave danger.

Joe Lipsett reviewed the film for Bloody Disgusting, calling it “a daring horror mish-mash.

Here’s the film’s first teaser trailer in which “a strange force is thriving, influencing residents and wildlife alike.”
