‘Resident Evil RE:Verse’ Confirmed as a PvP Multiplayer Game Featuring a Host of Characters

Horror

Earlier today it was revealed that Resident Evil Village would be packaged with something called Resident Evil RE:Verse, and we remarked that it was likely to be the multiplayer game Capcom had beta tests for recently. At the Resident Evil Showcase, it was confirmed with a first look trailer, and it’s…definitely different.

Featuring a cel-shaded comic book visual style, various Resident Evil characters take on each other in a PvP arena. It’s not worried about continuity though as Resident Evil 2‘s Leon and Claire clash with the likes of Jack Baker from Resident Evil VII in the RPD building. Oh, and Leon appears to transform into the Nemesis.

It’s been created with the series’ upcoming 25th anniversary in mind. It will hope to do a better job retaining longevity than the last Resident Evil online game managed. Last year’s Resident Evil Resistance showed promise, but struggled quite quickly despite being packaged with the Resident Evil 3 remake.

Not much else known about it at this point, but as reported, it comes free with Resident Evil Village, which is out May 7, 2021, on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X/S, and PC.
