Some sad news tonight, as we’ve learned that veteran actor Peter Mark Richman has passed away at the age of 93. Variety reports that he passed in Woodland Hills, California today.

Horror fans will recognize Peter Mark Richman for his role as Charles McCulloch in 1989’s Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, the film’s secondary antagonist.

Richman reflected on Jason Takes Manhattan in the book Crystal Lake Memories (2005), “We shot it in Vancouver for seven weeks and it rained for six. We worked our bloody asses off. It really was one of the toughest shoots I have ever had. But the nice thing was that the one week my wife came up, the sun came out, and shone every day she was there.”

Jason Takes Manhattan is just one of several films Peter Mark Richman appeared in throughout his 60+ year career, including The Black Orchid, Dark Intruder, Bonanza: The Next Generation, The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear, and Poolhall Junkies. He was even more prolific as a television actor, appearing in “Alfred Hitchcock Presents,” “The Twilight Zone,” “The Outer Limits,” “The Wild Wild West,” “The Fugitive,” “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” “Gunsmoke,” “Bonanza,” “Hawaii Five-O,” “Wonder Woman,” “Three’s Company,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “Swamp Thing,” “Beverly Hills, 90210,” “Spider-Man: The Animated Series,” “Superman: The Animated Series,” “Batman Beyond,” and countless other shows.

Richman passed away due to natural causes. Variety notes, “He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Helen Richman; five children, Howard Richman and his wife, Cherie, Kelly Lester and her husband, Loren, Lucas Richman and his wife, Debbie, Orien Richman and his wife, Alevé, and Roger Richman; as well as six grandchildren, Jenny, Lily, Max, Julia, Oliver and Danica.”
