It was a given that the physical fight between Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard would dominate the Season 5  Real Housewives of Potomac reunion. And Monique came ready to rumble. While many Housewives bring some receipts to the reunion, Monique outdid them all with a binder full of receipts.

There wasn’t any resolution between Candiace and Monique during the RHOP reunion. Monique did apologize, but Candiace declined to accept it.

After the final episode of the reunion aired, Monique announced live on Instagram that she was leaving the franchise. Monique said that she received an offer from Bravo. But after the crazy reunion, she changed her mind. Monique also denied that she was demoted. Monique claimed that the reunion was “jacked up” after she and her group were booked in a different hotel than the rest of the cast.

Host Andy Cohen also faced fallout from the reunion. Many RHOP viewers felt that Andy was much harder on Monique than Candiace. On a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, guest Rachel Lindsay stated, “I did think you were more on Candiace’s side than Monique. You held her feet to the fire more than Candiace.”

Andy responded, “I got that a lot. And I have to say, I was really pushing for this to be four parts. And I really talked to Candiace a lot about her role in this.”

He said, “The fact that really people, a lot of people think she provoked it. And she said drag me.” Andy added that a lot of that footage was edited out. Is Andy blaming his behavior on a bad edit?

According to MadameNoire, Monique addressed the reunion backlash on her YouTube show, Tea with Monique. During a Q&A, co-host James “Binder” Johnson asked Monique if she believed Andy about production being the cause of his perceived favoritism toward Candiace. Monique responded, “It definitely wasn’t equal now. No it definitely wasn’t equal.” I agree that Candiace wasn’t held accountable for her behavior. “I’ll put it like this, we filmed for 11 hours. I was in the hot seat for a good five, six of those hours. But I will say, we all thought we were going to get four parts and what we got was three and a half,” Monique explained.

“We should’ve had four. There was a lot more to be shown but I’m definitely not going to sit here and say that it was equal. The accountability definitely wasn’t equal,” the rapper added. “I knew going into [the] reunion that it was going to be heavy for me and that it was going to be a lot of heat coming in my direction. So, on one side, I can’t really be upset with Andy,” Monique stated. “He was doing his job. That’s what he was there to do.” I am surprised that Monique didn’t slam Andy.

She continued, “But on the other side, I definitely can agree and wished they would have shown four parts because there was so much more that was talked about, not even just with the issue of me and Candiace.” Still, Monique doesn’t feel that Andy has ill will towards her. “I don’t think he dislikes me,” she replied. “I’ve never had an issue with Andy. I honestly felt like he was just doing his job.”
