How to watch ‘The Bachelor’ 2021 premiere live tonight

Reality TV

It’s a new year and already things are getting back to normal: “Bachelor” Mondays are back.

Tonight, Matt James will take his place as the leading man on Season 25 of “The Bachelor.”

Though the show and its many spinoffs have always aired on Monday nights since premiering in 2002, the last season of “The Bachelorette” was pushed to Tuesday night because the coronavirus caused delays in filming.

Though it’s been less than two weeks since we watched Bachelorette Tayshia Adams get engaged to Zac Clark, it’s time for James — the first black Bachelor — to begin his journey.

Here’s how to watch “The Bachelor” tonight.

What time is it on?

“The Bachelor” will premiere tonight on ABC at 8 p.m. Episodes are two hours long. Come the end of the season, episodes may air on Tuesday nights as well.

Like on Season 16 of “The Bachelorette,” James’ run as the Bachelor won’t happen at Bachelor Mansion. Because COVID-19 prevents them from traveling the world, James will reportedly search for love at the Nemacolin Resort in Pennsylvania.

How can I watch it?

If you’re watching live and have cable, simply turn the channel to ABC.

If you’re streaming, you can watch for free on ABC.com if you have a cable log-in.

Those without one will need to view through a paid-for live streaming service, like Hulu’s Live TV add-on ($54.99 a month) or YouTube TV ($64.99 a month).

If you’re looking to catch up after the episode airs, you can watch on ABC.com, on Hulu or through cable on-demand services.

James, 29, is technically a newcomer to Bachelor Nation. He’s best friends with Tyler Cameron, the breakout star of Hannah Brown’s season of “The Bachelorette.” The two met while playing football at Wake Forest University in North Carolina.

James was originally supposed to vie for Clare Crawley’s heart before filming for her season was delayed because of the pandemic. After the two got into a scuffle on social media, he was able to skip her season to head his own.

After growing up down South, James moved to NYC, where he works as a commercial real estate broker. He also runs ABC Food Tours, a charity that helps introduce kids in the city to exciting cuisines.
