Tom Sandoval And Ariana Madix Sued For Breach Of Contract Over Their Book; They Vow To “Vigorously Defend” Themselves In Response

Tom Sandoval & Ariana Madix

Even though Vanderpump Rules (inexplicably) gave Stassi Schroeder’s book much more screen time than Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval’s book, theirs did get some shine on the series.

Originally, Ariana wanted to write a cocktail book on her own, which became a point of contention between her and Tom. Then, Tom got on board and they ended up doing the book together, along with co-writer Danny Pellegrino. However, he wasn’t the original co-writer involved. Now, Tom and Ariana are being sued.

Us Weekly contained legal documents that writer Alison Baker filed against Tom and Ariana over their book Fancy AF Cocktails, accusing them of breach of contract.

Apparently, Alison met Ariana through a mutual friend in 2016. Soon after, they started discussing the cocktail book. A month after, Allison said she and Ariana agreed on a $3,000 initial fee and 45 percent of the total advance once they got a publisher on board. The agreement allegedly stated that Allison would get 45 percent of the “actual earned royalties on sales of such book in perpetuity” and cowriter credit on the title page.

Tom got on board with the book in 2017. Allison said he “forced himself” into the deal. Allison claimed that they agreed to “share any revenue from this separate endeavor in equal thirds.” However, Tom and Ariana revised that agreement since they weren’t “prepared to contribute the level of work necessary to complete the task of successfully writing and self-publishing a book.”

Tom and Ariana clapped back, telling Us Weekly, “The allegations presented are false and frivolous. We will vigorously defend ourselves against these baseless claims.”
