Andy Cohen Talks About Jax Taylor And Brittany Cartwright’s Departure From Vanderpump Rules; Says He’s “Excited For There To Be A Shift” In The Future On The Show

The Vanderpump Rules reckoning is an ongoing movement. Since OGs Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute were fired this summer for racist behavior (along with newbies Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni), people have been waiting for Jax Taylor to get the boot. Jax and his wife, Brittany Cartwright, made headlines this year when it was revealed that they were totally apathetic about having a homophobe marry them on TV. It was also revealed that Brittany used racial slurs against Faith Stowers.

Jax and Brittany got booted off Pump Rules last week. In spite of the fact that Stassi didn’t want them to get fired. Brittany’s meemaw can’t churn out the beer cheese fast enough to sooth either of them. This was a long time coming for Jax. His absence will shift the show, and even Andy Cohen is ready for the change.

As reported by Us Weekly, Andy recently opened up about Jax and Brittany’s departure on his podcast. “I just have to say, I have to give it up to them,” Andy said. “Have you seen a run on a — specifically Jax — like, Jax created so much story, drama, conversation in his eight years on that show. That’s quite a run that he had.” Indeed, he had a great run in terms of reality TV. I can’t disagree with what Andy says here. Jax’s sociopathy and narcissism were truly fascinating to watch.

Andy added, “one thing that I always, always appreciated about Jax is, man, every time he came to Watch What Happens Live, he was always in the middle of some s–t storm on the show and we just would roast him mercilessly.” He continued, “he always took it like a man. He was a good sport.” Either he took it like a man, or again, Jax’s anti-social personality disorders obscured any sense of embarrassment or wrong-doing.

Another article in US Weekly shares additional quotes from Andy’s podcast about the future of Pump Rules. “They’ve got Lala [Kent], James [Kennedy], Scheana [Shay], Tom [Sandoval], Tom [Schwartz], Katie [Maloney], Ariana [Madix], the new people. I mean, that’s a solid cast.”

Andy also said, “when that show’s going to start shooting again, I have no idea, but I’m excited.” He’s “excited for there to be a shift also.” So am I. I’ve said it before, reality TV can work without bigots.

While I agree with Jax getting the boot, I’m interested to see how noticeable his absence is. Brittany, not so much. I even wonder how long they last now that Brittany doesn’t have a show in her life to distract her from the man she knowingly married.
