Lisa Vanderpump’s Restaurant Pump Is Not Closing During Coronavirus Pandemic Despite Speculation

Reality TV

Vanderpump Rules star Lisa Vanderpump has had a rough go of it this year. Back in March, the restaurant industry suffered from massive shut downs due to the pandemic. Many restaurants decided to stay open for take out during that time, but Lisa had opted to keep SUR, Pump, TomTom, and Villa Blanca closed instead. Those who had cravings for fried goat cheese balls or Pumptini’s would have to wait. Unfortunately, Lisa ended up having to close down Villa Blanca for good.

Gradually, restrictions were lifted and restaurants were allowed to have outdoor dining. The friend goat cheese balls were being served once again as SUR reopened, and Lisa was back in action. Cast members Charli Burnett, Dayna Kathan, and Danica Dow also returned. Shortly after SUR reopened, Pump finally opened their doors as well. Things were back on the up and up for Lisa. However, with covid cases increasing, new lockdowns have been implemented in Los Angeles County. Will Lisa decide to shut down her restaurants once again?

US Weekly reported that Lisa announced via Twitter she has decided to keep Pump open. Lisa wrote, “After much cost & consideration for the well being of staff & guests we endeavored to open. Sadly, many restaurants will not reopen. We want to thank patrons and incredible staff who followed stringent guidelines. Masks are essential, stay safe we will prevail. Happy thanksgiving.” This is very good news for Lisa’s staff and customers.

However, restaurant hours will have to be adjusted due to a new lockdown that was implemented. US Weekly also reported that, “California Governor Gavin Newsome announced…due to the spike in COVID-19 cases in California, 41 of the state’s 58 counties will be under lockdown from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for at least three weeks. All non-essential work also must stop in the purple-tier counties.” On top of that, LA county has shut down outdoor dining for several weeks.

Lisa is no fan of Gavin, and made her opinions known via Twitter he was out dining with friends and there was no curfew. Fox News reported Lisa wrote, “Hypocrisy at its finest. @GavinNewsom All the staff being soooo careful. Last week, you are safe at 9*59pm but 10*00pm …no it’s dangerous. Except at French Laundry.”

With SUR and Pump still open, there is some hope that Pump Rules can begin filming once again. Jax Taylor had mentioned they were to begin filming in October, but that did not end up happening. Scheana Marie gave the latest update and mentioned filming is still up in the air and the cast had no new information. Even though VPR has yet to start filming, it’s good news for Lisa that some of her restaurants are staying open and not shutting down again.
