Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein to Write and Direct New Heart Biopic

Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein is set to write and direct a forthcoming biopic on Heart for Amazon, frontwoman Ann Wilson revealed on the SiriusXM show “Volume West.” Wilson said Brownstein, the star and co-creator of IFC’s Portlandia, is currently writing the script, and the roles of Wilson and her sister Nancy have not yet been cast. The Nowhere Inn, the film Brownstein wrote with St. Vincent’s Annie Clark, was selected for the 2020 Sundance Film Festival. The pair were set to discuss the film at SXSW 2020 before its cancellation due to the coronavirus pandemic.
