Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star and restaurateur, Lisa Vanderpump, is not happy right now, and she let the world know it. The fate of her reality show, Vanderpump Rules, is still up in the air after the firing of Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, and two other employees for alleged racist behavior.
The coronavirus pandemic has taken a terrible toll on so many businesses, including restaurants. Lisa and her husband, Ken Todd, own three eateries in Los Angeles: SUR, PUMP, and TomTom. They also own Vanderpump Cocktail Garden at Caesars Palace in Los Vegas. Since VPR follows the lives of Lisa’s employees at SUR and TomTom, with the shutdowns, there isn’t much to film.
Lisa worried that the Covid-19 shutdowns would close many restaurants for good. On July 10, she announced that their restaurant, Villa Blanca, was closing its doors permanently. The location was heavily featured on RHOBH. Lisa famously remarked that Villa Blanca is the place where you take your wife, and you bring your mistress to SUR.
Los Angeles County public health officials have banned all outdoor dining at restaurants for three weeks, which will begin on November 25 because of the surging Covid-19 counts.

Fox News reported that Lisa tweeted, and then deleted, a comment directed at California Governor Gavin Newsome. Last week, Governor Newsome came under fire after photos of him, along with his wife, were taken at the restaurant French Laundry in the Napa Valley. In the photos taken earlier this month, he was with a large group of diners, and he was not wearing a mask.
(Warning-there is some rough grammar in the tweets.) Lisa tweeted on November 23, “Hypocrisy at its finest. @GavinNewsom All the staff being soooo careful. Last week, you are safe at 9*59pm but 10*00pm …no it’s dangerous. Except at French Laundry.”

But Lisa wasn’t done slamming Governor Newsome. “Don’t do as I do, do as I say. #lockdown and #restaurants,” she tweeted. Lisa was furious!
On November 24, Lisa posted on Twitter, “After much cost & consideration for the well being of staff & guests we endeavored to open. Sadly, many restaurants will not reopen.” Lisa stated. “We want to thank patrons and incredible staff who followed stringent guidelines. Masks are essential. Stay safe we will prevail. Happy thanksgiving.”

According to Fox News, Governor Newsome apologized for his actions. “I want to apologize to you because I need to preach and practice, not just preach and not practice, and I’ve done my best to do that. We’re all human. We all fall short sometimes,” he stated. But that mistake was so stupid and unnecessary.
I don’t think that Governor Newsome should expect Lisa to forgive and forget so easily. This feud is far from over.
