Lil Nas X has clapped back on Twitter at rapper 50 Cent after he criticised his iconic Nicki Minaj Halloween costume.

The “Old Town Road” singer, who came out as gay in July 2019, revealed earlier this year that he was the Twitter user behind the “@nasmaraj” Nicki Minaj stan account.

Representatives of the rapper repeatedly denied he ran the fan page in the past, but many clues, from him liking tweets that referred to the account to pages upon pages of archived tweets and Reddit exchanges, appeared to link the two together.

In a Twitter exchange with a fan in June, Lil Nas X finally revealed that the account was his, and admitted that he had never claimed it because, at the time, he “didn’t want people to know he was gay”.

So when Halloween, otherwise known as Gay Christmas, rolled around this year, Lil Nas X had no choice but to pick Minaj as his costume.

Complete with pink giraffe print unitard and split-colour wig, Lil Nas X iconically recreated Minaj’s look from her “Superbass” music video.

While fans lost their minds over the incredible outfit, rapper 50 Cent was less impressed.

Posting three photos of the gay rapper in his fabulous Halloween costume on Twitter, he wrote: “What the f**k, Nikki come get him!!! Lol.”

Fans of the “Panini” singer were quick to call out 50 Cent for his “homophobia”.

One wrote: “Mm it’s the homophobia for me, straight men are SO INSECURE it’s hurts.”

A fierce drag queen added: This shouldn’t have bothered you. You could have kept scrolling…. now you acting mad sus, pressed about a young homosexual’s costume.

“Now you get to look at me in drag too.”

But Lil Nas X had the perfect clapback for the “In Da Club” singer.

“50 cent please stop making collages of me challenge,” he wrote, before later deleting the tweet.
