The unlikely war between Taryn Manning and “Dancing With the Stars” rages on.
Earlier this week the “Orange Is The New Black” star said in a promo shoot that she’d been asked to appear on the show “many times” — but would never accept the invitation for fear of being seen as a “has-been.”
But “DWTS” sources sniffed to Page Six that the show had never offered her a spot.
Now Manning’s fired back — posting emails on Instagram which, she claims, prove that the long-running ABC hit has indeed tried to sign her up.
The writer of one email claims “my office is casting [Dancing With the Stars],” and says, “We would be thrilled to have Taryn Manning join the cast.”
(A show insider told us that the email is from an individual who “has never worked for or on behalf of the show in any capacity.”)
In another email, one of the show’s producers requests a meeting to discuss the “possibility of being on our show,” but the insider insists “there was never an offer on the table.”
In the caption Manning wrote, “I have been asked to be on your show multiple times and just to clarify that as you see in my photo attachments and btw, thank you for the offers over the years.”
Manning also blasted the dance competition show for having “inaccurate information” and casting “Tiger King” star Carole Baskin — who keeps exotic cats in a so-called “sanctuary” — on this season.
“So… side note – Due to the fact that you cast ‘The Tiger Lady’ on your program and me being a [sic] animal rights advocate and staunch vegan, I do not agree with any type of known endangered animal abuser in the entertainment circuit,” she said.
She later posted a video and doubled-down on her disdain for their casting choices, saying, “It’s not that I don’t like ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ I’ve been entertained by that program many times. I’m so proud of everybody. I don’t support any type of animal abuse at all and I will never. I’m a staunch vegan and it’s not because of health. It’s because I don’t torture animals period. I don’t like that they have Carole Baskin on.”
