Delia Derbyshire: The Myths & The Legendary Tapes, a new film about the life of Delia Derbyshire, will premiere October 15 at the London Film Festival. Check out the trailer below.

Derbyshire, an early electronic music pioneer, worked at the BBC’s Radiophonic Workshop in the 1960s, where she composed the theme for the long-running science fiction series Doctor Who. Written and directed by Caroline Catz, the film features archival materials, interviews with Derbyshire’s colleagues and collaborators, and dramatizations starring Catz herself as the composer. Derbyshire’s original compositions are featured alongside a soundtrack by Cosey Fanni Tutti (Throbbing Gristle), constructed from samples Derbyshire’s posthumously released “Attic Tapes.”

Derbyshire’s score for the 1972 film Circle of Light was reissued in 2016.
