Call of Duty: Warzone is introducing a limited-time game mode, Armored Royale, which adds some upgrades to its massive cargo trucks. The game mode released as part of Season 6, which also came with a new subway system and two new Operators.
Warzone gives players access to helicopters, trucks, and cars as they battle it out. Especially after the recent nerfs to C4, vehicles are a smart choice for any player to use to their advantage. Cargo trucks are one of the best vehicles in squads, providing a lot of room for all players to sit in, and their high durability make them difficult to shoot down as well. At least in comparison to an ATV, which may leave players more vulnerable to bullets.

Call of Duty: Warzone recently released Armored Royale, which starts off as an ordinary four-player squad game mode, but each team starts with a cargo truck with built-in turrets, armor, and purchasable upgrades. The game mode revolves around intense vehicle-to-vehicle combat, where each squad battles at high speeds. With high power comes high risk, however, because if a squad loses its truck, it also loses the ability to respawn until another truck is purchased at a buy station. Hopefully, the trucks don’t bug out and Infinity Ward has to remove vehicles again.
If players find themselves with a lot of cash, they can also purchase special upgrades for their truck. These can be purchased at Buy Stations, which will also enable repairs after devastating fights. The list of buffs includes upgrades to armor, damage, explosion resistance, and sensors. However, stopping for upgrades also alerts all players that the Buy Station is being used, making it a dangerous proposition. It may not be quite the same experience as standard Warzone, but as a limited-time diversion, Armored Royale seems to have a lot of potential to become a fan-favorite – or at least unleash a lot of chaos while it’s available.
This new game mode is fantastic for players who love vehicular combat in Call of Duty. Battling out with other squads in a high-speed truck battle sounds like a ton of fun, so this weekend may be a good time to try Armored Royale during its short stay in Call of Duty: Warzone.
Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare are available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
