We’ve mentioned Punch Punk Games’ This is The Zodiac Speaking a couple of times over the past year, but that ever-elusive release date has never been nailed down until now. The game, which is based on the very-real story of The Zodiac Killer in the 1970s, will be arriving on PC via Steam and consoles on October 15th, according to Punch Punk Games’ Twitter page.
Players will step into the shoes of Robert Hartnell, a San Francisco journalist, who receives one of those infamous phone calls from the Zodiac Killer. Combining elements of horror, stealth mechanics and a detective mode, players will have to track down clues as to the identity of the Zodiac, and with multiple endings, things will get interesting.
The script is co-written by Łukasz Orbitowski, one of Poland’s best writers, laureate of the prestigious Paszporty Polityki award and nominated for the Nike award. This is The Zodiac Speaking features a gloomy atmosphere that is more than appropriate for the task of tracking down one of history’s most notorious unsolved cases.
