TikTok to Sell U.S. Operations to Oracle

Music, News

TikTok operations in the United States will be taken over by Oracle, the Associated Press and Wall Street Journal report. The news was reported shortly after Microsoft revealed that its bid had been rejected.

On July 31, President Trump stated that he planned to “terminate” the social media platform in the U.S. via executive order and ordered parent company ByteDance to divest its U.S. business within 90 days. Trump claimed that the business posed a national security risk. TikTok denied the president’s claim and sued the Trump administration at the end of August. Oracle is primarily known as a database software corporation.
