When Kim Kardashian announced the end of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians,” fans had one thing to say: This is a case for the FBI.
The iconic reality show, which has been airing on E! since 2007, will cease in early 2021. Between 18 seasons and too many spinoff shows to count, fans have witnessed the famous family grow up, get divorced, find love and make millions of dollars.
During all those hours spent in Calabasas eating giant salads and yelling at each other, some of the most iconic moments in reality TV history were born. Some were funny, some were sad, some were contrived to fill air time.
Either way, we watched.
Though we’ll still have an in-depth look at the family’s lives thanks to Instagram, it just won’t be the same without the E! cameras capturing their shenanigans.
Here are 10 of the most memorable moments from “Keeping Up With The Kardashians.”
You’re doing amazing, sweetie.
Season 1, Episode 4
In this early episode, Kim, an aspiring model, is given the opportunity to be in Playboy. It’s the chance of a lifetime — until she realizes she has to pose nude. After meeting with Hef himself, Kim decides to strip down to nothing but pearls.
Good thing she had momager Kris Jenner to encourage her behind the scenes. “You’re doing amazing, sweetie,” Kris called out from outside the shot, taking her own pics on her digital camera.
That moment of encouragement has become Kris’ calling card. In 2019, she gave the line a shout-out in Ariana Grande’s “Thank u, Next” music video. Acting out a scene from “Mean Girls,” she videotaped her daughter performing a sexy dance. Sound familiar?
In August, she filed to trademark the phrase.
This is a case for the FBI.
Season 1, Episode 8
Kim, still reeling from the release of her sex tape, is stunned when she finds out someone is trying to sell nude photos of Kourtney from when she was in high school. Kim stole the photos as a “practical joke” — but lost them.
“This is a case for the FBI,” Kris announces. The matriarch is not kidding: Soon, the FBI is on the case, tracking down the person trying to sell the child pornography.
The FBI did their job: The photos were recovered before they could be posted on TMZ. And fans got an incredible meme, which is still in use today.
Kim, would you stop taking pictures of yourself? Your sister is going to jail.
Season 3, Episode 1
Khloé, on probation after getting a DUI, misses two court-ordered classes while on vacation to Australia. She’s kicked out of the program, and for violating her parole, she’s sent to jail for 30 days.
While in the car to drop Khloé off, Kim breaks out her digital camera to remember the happy occasion. She snaps a few pics of Khloé before turning the camera on herself. When the lighting’s right you just have to get that selfie, as we learned time and time again from Kim.
“Kim, would you stop taking pictures of yourself? Your sister is going to jail,” Kris pleads, while Kim smiles.
All’s well that ends well: Khloé only had to serve two hours because of overcrowding.
The male enhancement coffee
Season 4, Episode 3
In this modern Greek tragedy, a randy Kris tries to drug her husband with Viagra by dropping a pill in his morning joe. Oops! Her son Rob drinks from the tainted mug instead. He’s stuck with an erection that won’t go away, and he doesn’t know why.
In pain, he heads to his pediatrician, where the mishap is revealed. Though Rob forgives his mama, he still gives her a “hard time,” walking around with a cucumber in his pants. What a happy family moment.
Kim, there’s people that are dying.
Season 6, Episode 12
The entire crew, and Kim’s new boyfriend Kris Humphries, head to Bora Bora to celebrate Caitlyn (then Bruce) and Kris Jenner’s anniversary.
To celebrate the vacation, Kris tosses his soon-to-be-bride in the ocean. It’s all fun and games until Kim realizes one of her $75,000 diamond earrings has fallen out. She breaks into one of her classic ugly cries, sobbing at her misfortune.
Kourtney, ever the realist, puts things in perspective for her little sister: “Kim, there’s people that are dying,” the future Poosh entrepreneur advises.
Thankfully, Kendall and Kylie found the sparkler in the clear water.
Auntie Kris, it’s me, Todd Kraines.
Season 8, Episode 4
Bored and looking to fill some secondary plot for the producers, Kourtney, Kim and Scott Disick decide to prank Kris. Scott pretends to be Todd Kraines, a friend of the family.
“Auntie Kris, it’s me, Todd Kraines,” he says into the phone, straining his voice. It’s a stupid joke that he continues for years, with Kris unaware of who is calling her — even though she can just watch her own show to find out. It’s one of the best pranks on the series (We’re looking at you, Art Vandalay).
The joke became so well known that Kylie dropped a Todd Kraines-themed lip kit in 2018.
KimYe gets married
Season 9, Episode 20
Kim and Kanye head to Paris to tie the knot. Though this wedding episode isn’t as revealing as Khloé’s wedding to Lamar (Season 4, Episode 1), or Kim’s wedding to Kris Humphries (Season 6, Episodes 14 and 15), it’s the most star-studded and bougie nuptials on the show.
She loves her friends
Season 11, Episode 12
Kris Jenner is turning 60. Her daughters decide to throw her an epic 1920s-themed party. As an extra surprise, they decide to remake the music video Kris made when she turned 30, a cover of Randy Newman’s “I Love LA” re-written as “I Loves My Friends.” Justin Bieber and the staff of the Beverly Hills Hotel make an appearance. That’s what we call range.
Maybe if you had a f – – king business…
Season 15, Episode 1
The girls can’t sync up their schedules to take a photo for the family Christmas card. Kourtney can’t do it on Kim’s time and doesn’t understand why Kim can’t move her business commitments around.
Kim decides to skewer her older sister. “Maybe if you had a f – – king business that you were passionate about then you would know what it takes to run a f – – king business,” she yells at Kourtney. “But you don’t, so don’t even act like you know what I’m talking about.”
Khloe delivers True
Season 15, Episode 12 and 13
The most recent seasons of “KUWTK” are filled with real-life drama caught on camera: Kim getting robbed in Paris (Season 13, Episode 2), Caitlyn’s transition (Season 10, Episode 10) and Lamar’s hospitalization (Season 11, Episode 11).
Days away from her due date, videos surface showing Khloé’s boyfriend and baby daddy Tristan Thompson cheating on her. Wanting to make the day special, she forces her family to keep the peace in the delivery room despite the betrayal. It’s a heartbreaking reminder of what the show is about: family, in the face of everything else.
