Hot Chip will contribute a mix to the Late Night Tales series. The 19-track mix arrives October 2, and includes four exclusive songs from Hot Chip, as well as mixed tracks by Fever Ray, Nils Frahm, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, and more. Today, Hot Chip have shared one of their cuts: a cover of the Velvet Underground’s “Candy Says.” Listen to that below, and scroll down for the record’s tracklist, album art, and trailer.
“I think we all had slightly different understandings of what a Late Night Tales compilation might consist of; varying interpretations of the brief,” Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor said in a press release. He added:
Hot Chip’s seventh album A Bath Full of Ecstasy arrived last year. Earlier this summer, the group shared a remix of Hayley Williams’ “Dead Horse.”
Late Night Tales has released mixes by a number of artists since launching in 2001. Recently, Floating Points, BADBADNOTGOOD, and Jon Hopkins have contributed to the series.
