Luna Cover Television’s “Marquee Moon”: Listen

Music, News

Luna have covered Television’s classic “Marquee Moon.” The cover features Luna’s founding bassist Justin Harwood, who departed the band in 2000. The new cover was made remotely: Dean Wareham sang and played guitar from Los Angeles; Lee Wall drummed in Austin, Texas; Sean Eden played guitar in San Francisco; and Harwood recorded the bass in Auckland, New Zealand. Britta Phillips, who replaced Harwood in Luna, does not play on the “Marquee Moon” cover, but does feature in the video. Check out Luna’s cover below (via Ruta 66).

Luna released their debut Lunapark in 1992 after the dissolution of Dean Wareham’s previous band Galaxie 500. Luna broke up in 2004, but announced their reunion in 2014.
