Crafting is a major part of survival in Obsidian Entertainment’s new early access game, Grounded, so players will want to spend time exploring the backyard and searching for resources. Some resources are somewhat rare and difficult to find, like Flower Petals. Flower Petals can be used for everything from decent early-game armor to the Mint Mallet, currently the best weapon in the game. Because they only spawn in select map areas, players should grab them whenever possible.
Flower Petals also feature as part of Lure Traps, meant to attract certain insects and help players farm them for materials. To find Flower Petals, players will need to search the middle section of the map for flowers that will shed their Petals at random. Here’s how to find and collect Flower Petals in Grounded.

Find Flowers in Grounded
Despite the game taking place in a backyard, there aren’t very many flowers available. Players are likely to find some near the middle section of the map. In the northern area of the map by the big tree and pond, there is a small bed of Red Roses that may be a good place to farm Flower Petals. Other flowers are located in the south and east, and many are concentrated to the banks of the pond and the river.
Players should easily be able to see Flowers by looking up. Due to their size and color, they will likely always be the most visible plant in a location. They will want to watch out for Ladybugs in addition to Orb Weaver Spiders in these areas, however.
Get Flower Petals in Grounded
Flowers will shed Petals naturally, and players can simply pick them up from the ground near the flower. They can also encourage a few more petals to fall by shooting an arrow or two directly at the bulb of the flower.
Players can also climb up the Flowers to get to more Petals. The leaves should work like stairs, allowing the character to reach the flower bulb. Hitting it will release more Petals.
Flower Petals are used to craft the Ladybug Shin Guard armor, Ladybug Chestplate, Lure Arrow, Mint Mallet, and Lure Trap. While searching for Flower Petals, players will also likely find Nectar, which they can drink to refill their thirst meter. Many of the areas where players find Flower Petals will also have the resource Quartzite.
Grounded is in early access and is available for PC and Xbox One. The full game is set to launch in 2021.
