As early as the Married at First Sight Matchmaking Special Brett did not seem like a good fit for the popular social experiment let alone his kind-hearted fiancée. From his admittance of dating 45 women after a break up to his repeated occurrences of inappropriate behavior, the Lousiana native has shown a clear indication things could end badly before even beginning. In the spirit of hoping Olivia and Brett do find true love, there may be a glimpse of potential for their marriage.
In the latest episode of Married at First Sight the five couples spend their first night together as husband and wife. When it came time for Brett and Olivia to prepare for bed Brett revealed in a confessional to the cameras his hopes for the night, “I think I’m more anxious now than I was before the marriage just because I’m excited to spend more time with her.” He continued, “If sex happens, sex happens, but tonight I’m just hoping that we really get to know each other and kinda let natural chemistry run its course.“

When the grooms met, the day before their weddings, and discussed their ideal outcome for this particular night Brett had a different opinion about what should happen. After Bennett asked the group about consummating the marriage on the first night. Brett responded, “That’s easy…normally I’m a consummator.” Certainly something has changed…maybe it was the anxiety he stated he was feeling after meeting Olivia. Or the over consumption of alcohol that had him speaking so freely.
It’s only been one night so far yet Brett is showing a slight change of opinion on things. The sweet confessional provided a sense of hope Brett has good intentions. His previous actions showed signs of a playboy but maybe….just maybe there’s another side to Brett. The side viewers struggled to see but the experts noticed and deemed him fit for Married at First Sight and a match for Olivia.
Married at First Sight airs Wednesdays at 8pm on The Lifetime Channel.
