Music, News

Peaches has put her spin on T. Rex’s 1972 song “Solid Gold Easy Action.” It’s set to appear on the Hal Willner–produced tribute album AngelHeaded Hipster: The Songs of Marc Bolan and T. Rex. Listen to Peaches’ cover below.

“Hal and I always wanted to work on music together and when this came up, Hal was hellbound on getting me involved,” Peaches said in a press release. “He came to Berlin and set me up with Budgie (Siouxsie and the Banshees) and Knox Chandler. Then I went to NYC to mix with Hal and Marc (Urselli). I’m grateful to have had this time with Hal and that’s mainly why this track means so much to me.”

AngelHeaded Hipster: The Songs of Marc Bolan and T. Rex arrives September 4 (via BMG). The album includes contributions from Nick Cave, Kesha, and more.

Peaches last released Rub in 2015. Read Pitchfork’s feature interview “The Pleasure of Peaches.”
