U.S. Theatrical Release of ‘Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula’ Bumped to the End of August

Horror

Well Go USA had been set to release Sang-ho Yeon‘s Train to Busan follow-up Peninsula in theaters here in the U.S. and Canada beginning on August 7, but we’ve learned today that the release has been bumped slightly back to later in the month. The new date? August 21, 2020.

Peninsula will still release in Canada, however, on August 7.

For home streaming, Shudder has acquired the film and will debut it in 2021.

“Four years after South Korea’s total decimation in Train to Busan, Jung-seok (Gang Dong-won), a soldier who previously escaped the diseased wasteland, relives the horror when assigned to a covert operation with two simple objectives: retrieve and survive. When his team unexpectedly stumbles upon survivors, their lives will depend on whether the best—or worst—of human nature prevails in the direst of circumstances.”

Actress Lee Jung-hyun plays one of the survivors, alongside child actress Lee Re.
