Asymmetrical Multiplayer Game ‘Monstrum 2’ Announced With Closed Beta Testing

Horror

Indie developer Junkfish’s nautical horror game Monstrum was a hit for many fans, and now Junkfish is hoping that lightning will strike twice with the newly-announced sequel, Monstrum 2. Slated for launch in the last quarter of 2020, Monstrum 2 is now available for Closed Beta testing, as well as pre-purchase at the game’s official site.

Pre-purchasing will also give you bonus content for the sequel, plus Early Access. You can also add the game to your Steam wishlist.

Monstrum 2 features the asymmetric multiplayer gameplay from the original, but has upped the ante by combining first person stealth gameplay with extensive procedurally-generated environments, making each playthrough unique. You can choose to play as a member of a team of stranded prisoners looking to escape Sparrowlock, the Hong-Sha Miller research facility, or hunt them down as a monster. There are several different monsters to choose from, each based off of failed deep-sea experiments, and with each having their own special abilities.
