Although James was first introduced to Bachelor Nation via Cameron, he was well on his way to making a name for himself as one of the men vying for Clare Crawley’s final rose on the upcoming season of “The Bachelorette.”
However, because the season was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, it was unclear whether many of the men cast, including James, would actually return for filming.
During the hiatus, Crawley, 39, appeared to make a slight jab at James when she called out her potential suitors for “doing interviews” and “creating Cameo accounts.”
James was the only contestant who had done both, so it seemed that she was shading him. However, many came to James’ defense because he had done interviews and created a Cameo to raise awareness for ABC Food Tours amid the pandemic.
Despite the misunderstanding, James told “Good Morning America” on Friday that he had been “looking forward to meeting Clare.”
