I’m big on full disclosure and in the interest of that I’d like to fully confess that I barely know what “Legends of Tomorrow” is and I’ve unfortunately never seen a single episode, but a little bit of research has revealed to me that it’s a show that airs on The CW, it’s set in the DC Universe, and the twelfth episode of the fifth season aired just last night (May 19th).
Call me out of touch all you want, but I’ve barely got time to keep up on horror stuff much less non-horror stuff. In any event, non-horror stuff became horror stuff last night, and that’s why I’m talking about “Legends of Tomorrow” here today. More specifically, it’s been brought to my attention that last night’s episode paid tribute to the late George A. Romero.
The episode was titled “I Am Legends” and it was directed by Andrew Kasch, who you may know as the co-director of the excellent documentary Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy. In other words, Kasch is a big time horror fan, and he managed to work a zombie into the zombie-heavy episode that looks exactly like the man zombies would not exist without.
And here we were thinking “tribute zombies” could only be found on “The Walking Dead”!
Thanks to Twitter’s @seamone1 for bringing this to my attention.
