Third Man Announces Redd Kross Vinyl Reissues

Music, News

Third Man Records is reissuing two Redd Kross albums from the 1990s. Phaseshifter (1993) and Show World (1997) will be pressed to 180-gram vinyl. The vinyl-only reissues mark the first time these records have been released on this format in North America. Pre-orders are available here. Find a trailer for the reissues below.

Redd Kross was formed in Hawthorne, California in the late 1970s by brothers Jeff and Steve McDonald. Their first gig was opening for Black Flag, and they released their debut Posh Boy EP in 1980 when Jeff was 17 and Steve was 13. That record featured Black Flag’s Ron Reyes on drums and Circle Jerks’ Greg Hetson on guitar.

The brothers McDonald went on to release eight studio albums and a string of EPs. Their most recent album was 2019’s Beyond the Door.
