[Trailer] ‘Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula’ Looks to Like One of the Craziest Zombie Movies in Years!

Horror

Yeon Sang-ho‘s Train to Busan is easily one of the best zombie films ever made and now the trailer for its sequel looks to up the ante tenfold.

Well Go USA shares an action-packed and absolutely insane looking “teaser” trailer for Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula, which actually looks to further the zombie subgenre in more ways than one. The film appears to be an ode to George A. Romero’s Land of the Dead and Mad Max, offering up nonstop undead chaos mixed with shocking imagery. This may have become this year’s most anticipated horror film.

We also have the first official synopsis, which reads:

“Four years after South Korea’s total decimation in Train to Busan, Jung-seok (Gang Dong-won), a soldier who previously escaped the diseased wasteland, relives the horror when assigned to a covert operation with two simple objectives: retrieve and survive. When his team unexpectedly stumbles upon survivors, their lives will depend on whether the best—or worst—of human nature prevails in the direst of circumstances.”

Actress Lee Jung-hyun plays one of the survivors, alongside child actress Lee Re – whom Yeon told ScreenDaily he thinks will become “more [popular] than Ma Dong-seok [aka Don Lee] in Train to Busan”.

Watch for release news as it comes in.
