Watchmen Cast Release Washmen Video With Coronavirus Advice

Movies

The Watchmen cast released a video warning against the dangers of the coronavirus. COVID-19 has been declared a worldwide pandemic, with more than half a million people infected. The virus has killed tens of thousands of people, and the world is on lockdown to slow the spread. Celebrities have done their part to keep people entertained and educated about the virus, like the cast of the movie Contagion.

Now the Watchmen cast dropped a video telling people what to do in the wake of this global crisis. The video was posted via the shows’ Twitter account and features cast members Regina King, Tim Blake Nelson, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Jean Smart.

The 2 minutes 14-second clip is composed of multiple clips from the cast, urging everyone to wash their hands. Introduced as the “Washmen,” the actors take on the roles of their characters, instructing the audience on how to properly clean your hands and avoid the spread of COVID-19. This is just one of many examples in which the entertainment industry has crossed paths with recent news of the virus.

All nine episodes of Watchmen can now be streamed through HBO GO and HBO NOW. The series serves as a follow up to the comics, taking place decades after. It follows Regina King’s Angela Abar as she unmasks the truth behind a white supremacist group known as the Seventh Kavalry. The story was created by Damon Lindelof and tackled the themes of racial injustice and vigilantism in the modern world.
