Ed and Rosemarie’s relationship on 90 Day Fiancé is more father and daughter than lovers. The couple has found it hard to connect emotionally and physically, which leaves little to the imaginations of viewers.
The newest couple met on Instagram when Rosemarie friended Ed. Despite the 31-year age gap, the couple was immediately enamored with each other. While Rosemarie lives in poverty, Ed is planning a grand gesture by flying to her native country of the Philippines so they can meet face to face. Big Ed’s positive attitude has gained him popularity and right now fans are hoping that he is not being used by Rosemarie.
Upon meeting, the couple was a little awkward around one another, which was to be expected when one lied about their true height and weight (looking at you Big Ed.) Fans were a bit thrown off when they realized he was a 53-year-old man who was dating a 23-year-old girl. Rosemarie was actually only a couple of years younger than his only daughter. Many viewers believe he is an older man trying to recapture his youth and were confused as to why he would have gotten upset at Rosemarie for trying to take money from his wallet. As many fans argued, all the Californian brings to the table is money.
As the couple was about to enter the hotel room, Big Ed made it known that he wanted to sleep in separate beds as he did not want Rosemarie to feel pressured to have sex. After realizing she did not have or bring pajamas, the couple went shopping the next day. Naturally, Rosemarie was the translator and started grabbing money and telling vendors to keep the change, which upset the San Diego native. He felt he was being used by her and did not like that she felt so comfortable as to grab the cash from his hands. He tried talking to her, but it came across more like a father scolding a daughter. It became flat out creepy when he picked out pink, satin PJs for her. Fans have begun to also point out that Rosemarie not only is young but looks young, which made them question Big Ed’s motives even more.
To most of the audience, it is obvious that Rosemarie is in fact using Ed but argues it is not as bad to use someone out of necessity as it is to use somebody out of lust. Rosemarie is desperate for a better life, or at least one with electricity and running water while Ed has admitted he hasn’t dated in 28 years. The TLC personality may just be aiming for a woman that is a bit out of his league.
