In celebration of 4/20 the first ever Broadcast TV Network devoted to cannabis will be hosting 30 days of live music, comedy, interviews, and whatever else pop culture has to offer every day during the month of April.

United States Weed Channel is the world’s first cannabis internet entertainment service with thousands of members enjoying hundreds of TV shows and movies per day, including original series, documentaries, feature films and more. Subscribed members can watch as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, on nearly any internet-connected screen. Members can play, pause and resume watching, all without commercials or commitments.

For ages weed has been a huge part of pop culture. It’s been associated with being free spirited and earthy. Associated a lot with the hippie movement Cannabis is now becoming associated in the corporate world. The term 4/20 has long been referred to marijuana or the act of smoking it April 20 is considered an occasion for smoking a celebrating the smoking of marijuana. Thousands of marijuana advocates gather in cities across the US to consume marijuana in places where it is legal to do so as well as in places where it isn’t legal. They say it originated in 1971 where a group of California high school students who called themselves “The Waldo’s” decided to meet and hunt for a room with a Bandan stash of cannabis. The students would meet at 4:20 PM on the grounds of their high school. Later the number was recognized as a code for smoking pot. The Grateful Dead eventually picked up the phrase and began using it in the term spread. There will not be another actual 4/20 (April 2020) for another 100 years.

The U.S. Weed Channel, which is a broadcast tv network, has 141,945 app installations on ROKU. They have launched a subscription service with free and premium content on three global platforms. ROKU, AppleTV and on the web where the channel reaches all streaming media devices including FireTV, Chromecast, Xbox, and mobile devices.

The U.S. Weed Channel will be inviting musicians including Revolushn featuring Dave Kendrick, the drummer of Devo, along with guitarist No Mansfield who’s played with everyone from Aretha Franklin to Rod Stewart. They also have featured rising pop/rap recording artist Wicked Witch, California Grammy nominated The Hailers, Twisted Brown Trucker’s legendary guitarist Kenny Olson, Daeg Faerch from Rob Zombie’s Halloween, Youtube sensation Loretta Christiansenson, and many others soon to be announced.
