Intense, Scary Australian Trailer for ‘Antlers’ is the Movie’s Best Trailer Yet

Horror

Searchlight has already unleashed the final trailer for Scott Cooper‘s rated “R” horror movie Antlers here in the States, but a brand new trailer now comes our way from Australia.

Short and sweet at just 90-seconds long, the Australian trailer is the most intense preview of the film we’ve gotten to date, cutting right to the chase and unleashing some truly unnerving sights and sounds without spoiling much of anything. The film’s marketing has all around been incredibly strong, teasing and suggesting but not quite *showing* us much at all.

This particular trailer makes a good case for horror trailers being cut a whole lot shorter than they typically have been lately. It’s also got bits of brand new footage. Find it below.

In Antlers, produced by Guillermo del Toro, a small-town Oregon teacher (Keri Russell) and her brother (Jesse Plemons), the local sheriff, become entwined with a young student (Jeremy T. Thomas) harboring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences.

Based on the short story “The Quiet Boy” by Nick Antosca (“Channel Zero”), Antlers is releasing on April 17. The film is written by Henry Chaisson and Antosca, with revisions by Cooper.
