The showdown between Tom Sandoval and Stassi Schroeder during the event to promote Stassi’s book Next Level Basic: The Definitive Basic Bitch Handbook has been the major drama of the season so far. Via flashback, we found out that Sandoval did know about Stassi’s event and actually discussed the details with Tom Schwartz three days before.

The night before the event, Sandoval sent Stassi an outrageous text message about the book signing, an event that she got approved by Lisa Vanderpump and Tom Schwartz. During the event itself, Sandoval and Stassi got into a screaming match, which may have ruined a normal event, but was probably exciting for all the Vanderpump Rules fans in attendance. Now, Sandoval’s girlfriend Ariana Madix is sharing her thoughts on the drama.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ariana admitted, “He was so in the wrong for sending that text message.” She also mentioned that she told Tom not to send that message. Unfortunately, he didn’t listen to her.

Regarding the confrontation at the bar, Ariana shared, “I felt like things escalated very quickly and I wish it could have just been — you know, emotions were running high. I wish that the conversation could have been a little bit more, like, connecting with each other on the real situation.” The real situation? I feel like it’s really not that deep. The bar got extra business since it was open outside of its usual business hours. Stassi’s book got even more publicity on the show. It’s essentially a win for everyone involved. Well, except the fact that this fight just wasn’t a good look for Tom Sandoval.

During the fight, Ariana was laughing, which sent some mixed messages, to say the least. However, she told the publication, ‘I was laughing because — and I never got to say this — I was laughing because the conspiracy theory of the jealousy thing I just thought was so insane.” It’s not that insane. There are 252,663,444 cast members on this show. They all want the spotlight, and, of course, they want to make money off of the exposure.

Ariana went on to explain, “We were so excited for her book to do well, and we had conversations with our publisher about how that is such a good thing for us. So, even if we didn’t love and care about her, even on the most selfish level, it’s just like, that’s insane. But, you know, it is what it is and I don’t think anything I said was gonna change anybody’s mind that day.”
