WWE superstar Bray Wyatt has spent the back half of 2019 as “The Fiend,” an evil alter ego who is essentially a horror movie villain. “The Fiend” wrestles under a creepy mask that was created by Tom Savini‘s makeup effects team (including Jason Baker, Mandy June Simpson and Ell Farrington), and he even debuted a twisted championship title this week.
Wyatt/”The Fiend” won the Universal Championship on Halloween at WWE’s Crown Jewel event, and last night on SmackDown he unveiled the belt’s new alter ego: a monstrous creation based on the design of “The Fiend” mask. As it turns out, the belt (like the mask) was designed by Tom Savini’s team, and it’s the only title in WWE history truly fit for a monster.
A limited batch of first-run replicas of this haunting rendition of SmackDown’s Universal Championship are now available in the WWE Shop, selling for $6,499.99. Yowie wowie!
Each title (made of a latex skin and acrylic eyes) will be numbered and includes a Certificate of Authenticity hand-signed by Tom Savini.
When pro wrestling fuses with the horror genre like this, we can’t help but smile!
