Here’s Brutal Proof That Not Everyone Loves Keanu Reeves

Movies

2019. It may be forever known as the year of Keanu Reeves. The Keanussance reached a special peak since he has kicked ass on the big-screen with John Wick 3, charmed Netflix subscribers in Always Be My Maybe, and voiced Duke Caboom in Toy Story 4. He took the gaming world by storm with his viral “breathtaking” appearance at E3, and now he’ll soon reprise his role as Neo in Matrix 4 and as Ted in Bill & Ted Face The Music. He’s a national treasure… right?

Not everyone’s universally loved… but Keanu Reeves comes pretty damn close these days. However, in an extended clip from Netflix’s Between Two Ferns: The Movie, host Zach Galifianakis asked some hard-hitting questions. Here’s how some of it went:

Yikes! Guess not everyone’s a huge fan of Keanu Reeves’ acting ability. The actor is best known for his action flicks, some of which have a more cheesy lean. He’s been criticized by some for his on-screen demeanor. Some would say that’s exactly the reason he holds charm. Plus, he’s shown his acting chops with a variety of other roles throughout his career. They continued with:

Now, the quotes of course come from a comedy bit Zach Galifianakis has been doing for years on YouTube with huge celebrities such as Barack Obama, Brad Pitt, and so forth for Funny or Die. It pokes fun at how vastly loved the actor is. Though, there are certainly people out there who don’t get the hype like Galifianakis’ persona does. The comedian sat down with Keanu Reeves for the Between Two Ferns: The Movie, which recently was released on Netflix. Check it out:

Incredible. In the interview, Zach Galifianakis first struggles to identify Keanu Reeves’ quite simple last name. The title card settles on “Reefs” with a caption reading “Bill or Ted” underneath it. He then goes on to ask him how many words he knows from 1 to 100, asks him how he feels to be called a “bozo.” He also brings up a motorcycle scar and a spleen he had to have removed.

One might argue it’s healthy for someone as widely loved and adored as Keanu Reeves to get a good laugh and light poke at his career every so often, as this Between Two Ferns interview hilariously does!
