The newest trailer for Adam Egypt Mortimer‘s (Some Kind of Hate, Holidays) Daniel Isn’t Real (review of the film) is here and it goes full-on Jacob’s Ladder with its imagery and mindfuckery.
In Daniel Isn’t Real, troubled college freshman Luke (Miles Robbins) suffers a violent family trauma and resurrects his childhood imaginary friend Daniel (Patrick Schwarzenegger) to help him cope. Charismatic and full of manic energy, Daniel helps Luke to achieve his dreams, before pushing him to the very edge of sanity and into a desperate struggle for control of his mind, and his soul.”
Trace called “unique and terrifying” out of the SXSW World Premiere this past March.
Daniel Isn’t Real hits limited theaters and VOD platforms on December 6th via Samuel Goldwyn Films. It will then release on Shudder at a later date.
