James Wan kicked off principal photography today on his tenth feature, a Giallo film that has been officially titled Malignant! Plot details, at this time, are still under wraps.
The cast includes Maddie Hasson, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Abel, George Young, Michole Briana White and Jacqueline McKenzie.
Italian Giallo films pre-date the American slasher, often centered on a murder-mystery involving a black-gloved killer. Notable Giallo films include The Bird With the Crystal Plumage, Deep Red, Blood and Black Lace and Don’t Torture a Duckling.
Wan is directing for his Atomic Monster production label with New Line Cinema distributing.
