Chris Pratt Seems Absolutely Pumped About The Original Actors Returning for Jurassic World 3

Movies

Late last night/early this morning (depending on your sleep schedule), fans of the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World franchise learned that the upcoming Jurassic World 3 will feature a trio of familiar faces. In addition to Jeff Goldblum being back as Ian Malcolm, who cameoed in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Sam Neill and Laura Dern will reprise Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler, respectively.

In other words, the original Jurassic Park stars will finally be back together again for the first time since the 1993 movie, and Chris Pratt, one of the leads of the Jurassic World film series, couldn’t be more psyched about having them participate in Jurassic World 3, saying:

Chris Pratt may be running the Jurassic World show alongside Bryce Dallas Howard, but even he can see that having Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum under one ‘roof’ again is a big deal, as he made clear on Twitter. And lest you think that these three will only make cameo appearances in Jurassic World 3, akin to Goldblum’s presence in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, director Colin Trevorrow clarified at the screening for the short film Battle at Big Rock, where this big news was announced, that they would have “major roles.”

So it’s a good bet that Chris Pratt will be able to work with most, if not all of these actors. At this point, he and Claire Dearing has just as much experience with dinosaurs as the original characters do, if not more. It was only a matter of time before their paths crossed with the old guard, though will have to wait and see exactly how this happens.

This makes four Jurassic Park characters who will be back for Jurassic World 3, because in addition to these three, B.D. Wong will also reprise Dr. Henry Wu, who had a minor role in the original movie, but has become a significantly more important player in the Jurassic World era. Isabella Sermon, who played Maisie in Fallen Kingdom, is also expected to return.

In Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Ian Malcolm was first warning the public at a U.S. Senate hearing about the dangers of keeping dinosaurs alive, and at the end of the sequel, he declared that we’re living in a new age where humans and dinosaurs must learn to coexist. As far as Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler are concerned, they haven’t been seen since 2001’s Jurassic Park III, with the former being the lead character of that threequel and the latter cameoing. It’s unclear if either of them have had any contact with dinosaurs in the nearly two decades since then or if they’ve steered clear of those prehistoric beasts.

Jurassic World 3 rampages into theaters on June 11, 2021, so stay tuned to CinemaBlend for continuing coverage. In the meantime, keep track of the rest of this year’s releases with our 2019 release schedule.
