Emily Simpson Is Siding With Kelly Dodd Amid Real Housewives Of Orange County Rumors: “I’m Not Drinking Any Kool-Aid”

When it comes to the drama this season on The Real Housewives of Orange County, Emily Simpson is firmly — and unapologetically — on Team Kelly.

In a new interview with gossip site TooFab, the OC’s resident lawyer with the good hair dished on the nasty divide among her fellow ‘Wives and why she’s choosing to support former frenemy Kelly Dodd against the Tres Amigas.

“As you follow the season along, I end up just sticking with Kelly the whole time,” Emily told TooFab in reference to the sex train rumors revolving around her famously unfiltered castmate. “I had no reason to abandon Kelly or jump on the ‘I hate Kelly’ train, excuse my pun. Sorry about that!”

Sounds like these two have come a long way since Emily was threatening to kill Kelly last season! However, the sophomore Housewife explained that, despite some of the other women’s protestations, she wasn’t going to walk away from Kelly while her name was being dragged through the mud throughout Orange County.

“I just make decisions based on what I think is right and based on integrity,” Emily said. “Because at the end of the day, I have to live with myself. And I had no reason not to be friends with Kelly, so I stuck by her. And you know, Vicki asked me repeatedly why I drink the ‘Kelly Kool-Aid,’ which I thought was incredibly rude because I’m not drinking any Kool-Aid. I just don’t have a legitimate reason not to be friends with her, so I’m not gonna do that.”

Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the rest of the RHOC ‘Wives, and Emily hints that the sex train rumors brought up on camera by Tamra Judge (but blamed on Vicki Gunvalson) have a splintering effect on the cast dynamic for the remainder of the season.

“I just feel that there’s such a division in the cast right now that I’m kind of on Team Kelly,” Emily confessed. “There isn’t really much of a crossover between these two groups, which is sad because it would be more fun, I think, if it was more inclusive.”
