Trey Songz Domestic Violence Lawsuit Dropped

Music, News

Trey Songz is no longer facing a lawsuit for alleged assault, The Blast reports and Pitchfork can confirm. The lawsuit, filed in August 2018 by a woman named Andrea Buera, stemmed from an alleged February 2018 incident. Buera’s attorney filed a request for a dismissal of the suit with prejudice yesterday (September 10) in the Superior Court of Los Angeles County.

In February 2018, an attorney for Andrea Buera claimed that Trey Songz “called [Buera] names, choked her, and repeatedly punched her in the face” at a house in Hollywood Hills. The R&B singer was then arrested on a felony domestic violence charge in March. He denied the allegations on Twitter, writing, “I am being lied on and falsely accused for someone’s personal gain.” The criminal case was subsequently dropped.

When reached by Pitchfork, representatives for Trey Songz offered no comment. Pitchfork has reached out to Trey Songz’s attorneys.
