Since Jurassic World 3 is still almost two years away, there’s been some serious radio silence about the final installment in the trilogy. It’s too quiet! We need answers – particularly about whether the original cast will be joining Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard for the finale! Coincidentally, Sam Neill and Howard were both at Toronto International Film Festival at the same time.
Sam Neill was on hand for interviews on Friday for the premiere of his new drama Blackbird, alongside Susan Surandon and Rainn Wilson. He was asked about whether he’d be joining the franchise again for Jurassic World 3, and he was speechless — a steel-trap. Maybe because he knows something and doesn’t want anything to slip?
The 72-year-old actor is still best known for his Jurassic Park role. There’s no official news that he is coming back for the conclusion to Jurassic World, but hey, he didn’t say no. Check out his response below:
He certainly seemed curious about Bryce Dallas Howard’s response to the question on everyone’s lips concerning the franchise. When he was told what she said, he mirrored it. The IMDb host had just interviewed Howard about her documentary Dads, also premiering at TIFF. Check out her words about Sam Neill’s involvement:
Turns out, she’d never met him before! As a huge fan of him and the franchise, she admitted she’d driven by his house once. When she was asked how they were going to get him for Jurassic World 3, she went completely silent and flashed quite the suspicious look our way. The silence is deafening!! Hopefully the two did get a chance to finally meet between interviews and exchange dino stories!
Okay – so we still don’t know a lot about what’s going on, but much of the cast has hinted a thing or two about the possibility of the original cast returning. Jurassic World 3’s writer/director Colin Trevorrow said this about the upcoming release:
It might still be too early for the cast to have all been called and given the rundown on Jurassic World 3. The film isn’t set to start filming until spring 2020 and will be released on June 11, 2021.
