The Real Housewives of New York City’s Bethenny Frankel documented her hurricane Dorian relief journey, allowing followers to watch her every move in an effort to help out anyone who has been affected by the historical storm.
The ex-New York City Housewife founded her B Strong charity in 2017 to be able to help in times of trouble when it comes to natural disasters. The 48-year-old entrepreneur made her mark in the charity world when her crew was one of the first to arrive in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria made landfall as a category 4 storm. Recently, Hurricane Dorian made landfall in the Bahama as a category 5 with winds over 185 mph, making the storm the second strongest hurricane in years, and it pounded the island.
The reality star once again took to her own powers and flew to Florida and the Bahamas to help as best she could with the Hurricane Dorian relief efforts, according to People. Her first mission upon landing was to have her B Strong team help distribute aid packets to those in need. Frankel documented her journey through Instagram, sharing her adventure every step of the way. She first posted over Labor Day saying she was on a plane and that her team was at a warehouse getting all the aid packages together. She explained that if viewers could donate to her B Strong charity, the relief goes right to the warehouse and the cash goes onto gift cards that end up directly in a person’s hand. As the founder, she wanted to be able to asses the situation that was happening and throw herself into helping those affected.
When Frankel arrived at her warehouse, which is located in Miami, she gave a tour to her social media followers. She explained how her team organized what had been donated and how they operate their relief supplies, even introducing some of the volunteers who had decided to come and help the charity. The founder of B Strong went on to say that they really needed first aid, medical, feminine hygiene, diapers, generators, and water the most. Frankel continued her plea, saying that over 20 million Americans may be affected by the storm and any little bit could help.
With Hurricane Dorian finally moving away from the Bahamas, Frankel will now concentrate on watching out for Florida. The Real Housewives of New York City alum does not want the Bahama’s to become a forgotten island like Puerto Rico became; throughout her trip, she continued to urge anyone who could help to donate to B Strong.
