Andy Cohen Reacts To Teresa Giudice’s Comments That She Has Never Enjoyed Filming RHONJ

Teresa Giudice’s history on Real Housewives of New Jersey has all the makings of a Shakespearean drama. In 2014, Teresa and her husband, Joe Giudice, plead guilty to federal fraud charges. He was sentenced to 41 months in prison at camp, and Teresa received a sentence of 15 months. Teresa was released from prison on December 23, 2015.

Joe was transferred to ICE custody after finishing his prison stint in March. Since Joe is not a United States citizen, he was ordered to be deported to Italy. He is appealing that order in hopes of returning home to his wife and four daughters. During the Season 9 RHONJ reunion, Teresa revealed that if her husband is sent off to Italy, they are going to divorce. So much for old-school values! Teresa has been seen holding hands with another, much younger man, but her attorney has assured the world that they are only friends. Really? That seems very friendly.

On the show, Teresa  has feuded with her brother, Joe Gorga, and his wife, Melissa Gorga. We have also seen many family celebrations, intense squabbling among  friends co-stars, and one epic table flip. In 2017,  viewers watched a heartbroken Teresa and Joe grieve the death of their beloved mother, Antonia Gorga.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Teresa explained that she has never enjoyed being on RHONJ. “It’s always challenging for me, unfortunately. It’s like, everybody else has smooth sailing, has a great time on the show,” Teresa shared. “For me, it’s always hard. I haven’t enjoyed being on the show. Not as of yet, 10 years on. Not enjoyed one season yet.” She added, “I can’t wait, maybe Season 11 I’ll enjoy.”

Of course, one person who isn’t shocked by Teresa’s feelings is Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen. Bravo’s The Daily Dish reported that Andy, in an interview on the Jerry O Show, stated that he completely understands where Teresa is coming from.

“I’m not surprised.” Andy told host Jerry O’Connell. “I mean look at what’s happened to her during her life [on the show]. I think she would agree that it’s been kind of the best of times and the worst of times. She’s a New York Times bestselling author. Her kids have grown up to be marvelous young women,” Andy said. “But look at what’s happened to her husband; she went to jail. She’s had real high highs — and low lows.”

Andy also discussed Teresa’s feelings about Melissa joining the RHONJ cast. He commented, “She really resented Melissa [Gorga] for coming on the show, bringing a lot of family business and family drama in front of the cameras. She didn’t love that. That’s not exactly a news flash that she said that, to me.”

In her recent interview with US Weekly, Teresa does tease some intriguing news for fans. “The 10th season is explosive,” Teresa remarked. “It’s just screwed up. … Tensions are high.” But in the end, viewers may get to know Teresa better this season. “I do open up this season, which is good,” Teresa admitted.
